Business IT

Business IT for the Whitsundays, for the email and logins nobody owns.

Business email, Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace, staff access and backups, set up properly and supported remotely by one accountable team.

The reality

Plenty of good Whitsunday businesses are still run from an email address they do not own.

A charter business trading on a personal Gmail. A shop whose bookings live in an ex-manager’s login. A trade whose quotes come from an address the customer cannot connect to the name on the ute. None of it is embarrassing, it is what happens when a business grows faster than its paperwork.

But every one of those is a business one password reset away from a very bad week, and moving to email at your own domain fixes the risk and the first impression in one job.

The sort

Three questions, and they sort almost everything.

1

Who owns the accounts?

If a staff member left tomorrow, could they lock you out of your own email, files or socials? If the answer is not an instant no, that is job one.

2

Where do the files live?

If the answer involves one laptop, one USB stick or one person’s memory, a backup that restores is job two.

3

What happens when someone new starts?

If onboarding means sharing a password over text, proper staff logins are job three.

The service

The dull things that stop the day when they break.

  • Email at your own domain
  • Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace setup and licences
  • Staff accounts, onboarding and offboarding
  • File storage and backups
  • The DNS records that make email actually deliver
  • Sensible security: two-factor logins and passwords out of the spreadsheet
The choice

Google Workspace or Microsoft 365, and how to pick.

Microsoft 365

The right default when your business lives in Outlook, Word and Excel, when you exchange documents with government, defence or corporate customers, or when the accountant already does. Familiar tools, serious admin controls.

Google Workspace

The right default when your team works from phones and browsers, shares everything, and nobody has opened a desktop app since 2019. Simpler to run, and effortless for seasonal staff who come and go.

We run both for clients daily and will recommend one for your business, not our convenience, with the reasoning in writing.

Straight talk

What we are, and what we are not.

We look after the cloud side of your business: email, accounts, files, licences and the records behind them, all of it handled remotely. We are not a walk-in computer repair shop, we do not fix printers, and when your problem genuinely needs hands on hardware we will say so and point you to someone local who does that well.

Straight answers

The IT questions owners actually ask.

No acronyms without a translation attached.

Can you support us without being based in the region?

Yes, because this work is cloud work. Email, accounts, files and licences are set up and supported remotely by design, over phone and screen share, and every change is documented so you are never dependent on anyone’s memory, including ours.

We use info@ourbusiness on a free Gmail. Does it matter?

It works until it does not. You do not control recovery, a customer cannot verify it is really you, and if the person who set it up leaves, so might the inbox. Email at your own domain costs little and fixes all three.

What does moving our email involve? Will we lose anything?

Done properly, no. Existing mail and contacts are migrated across, the switch happens at a quiet time, and the old addresses keep working through the change. You are consulted at each step in plain English.

Can you clean up who has access to what?

Yes, and it is one of the most valuable afternoons a small business can buy. We audit which accounts exist, who holds the keys and what an ex-staff member can still open, then close the gaps and write it down.
