Hosting

Hosting that stays up in your peak week, not just on the brochure.

Australian servers, real backups, and support from the same team that built the site.

The test that matters

The only hosting review that counts is the first week of the July holidays.

Cheap hosting is identical to good hosting for eleven months of the year. The difference appears in the week every bed and every boat in the region is being booked at once, when a slow or fallen-over site hands the booking to whoever loads next.

Our sites run on Australian servers with hourly backups, and the people watching them are the people who built your site, so a problem is fixed by someone who knows what they are looking at.

Included

Included with hosting, not sold as extras.

  • Australian servers, so pages load fast for Australian customers.
  • Automatic backups, kept and tested, so a mistake is an undo rather than a disaster.
  • SSL certificate installed and renewed, so browsers never warn people off your site.
  • Software updates applied, because an unpatched site is the way most sites get hacked.
  • A person on the phone who can also fix it, not a ticket queue in another time zone.
Switching

Changing hosts feels risky. Done properly, it is not.

We move sites between hosts regularly: copy everything, test the copy on the new server, then switch the domain over in a quiet hour. Done in that order the old site stays up until the new one is proven, and your visitors never see the move. If you are not sure what you are currently paying for, or who even controls the account, that is the first thing we untangle. Start with the domain

Straight answers

Hosting, explained like you are not an IT department.

Because you should not need to be one to own a website.

What actually is hosting, in plain terms?

The computer your website lives on, rented by the month. Cheap hosting puts that computer far away and shares it thin. Good hosting keeps it in Australia, backed up, patched and watched.

Our site is hosted somewhere and we do not know where.

Extremely common. We can trace where a site and its domain actually live, tell you what you are paying and to whom, and move it somewhere accountable, with the logins ending up in your name.

Do we have to host with you if you build the site?

No, you own the site either way. Most clients do host with us because one team owning build and hosting means nothing falls between two suppliers, but it is a choice, not a condition.

What happens if the site goes down?

We are usually the ones who notice first, because managed sites are monitored. Either way you ring one number and the person answering can actually fix it.
